Until the end of the 60s, the agricultural activity mainly carried out at the foot of Monte Baldo was animal breeding, while vine cultivation was marginal and mainly dedicated to red grapes for family use wines. Since then, an intense conversion activity of the agricultural production has led to the introduction of Muller Thurgau, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Nero vines.

The cultivation of mountain vineyards in the municipality of Brentonico and at an altitude between 350 and 750 meters, covers two sides on the slopes of Mount Baldo. The cultivated land is organized in graduated terrace steps having different sizes and typical for mountain terrain where manual work still prevails over agricultural machinery.
