Our Wines

The synthesis of our territory

Vini del Gelso

The success of our winery derives from an unparalleled territory: a surface which has 700 hectares of land planted with vines and an altitude from 200 to 1000 metres above sea level.

The diverse micro zones nature gave us make it possible to develop a range which embraces and represents our territory: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Müller Thurgau, Moscato Giallo, Marzemino, Merlot, Schiava and Teroldego. The thread connecting all these micro zones is the presence of mulberries, silkworms’ favourite food. In ancient times, the cultivation of vines along with the breeding of silkworms were the most important agricultural activities in the Vallagarina area. Today those traditions live again in Cantina Mori Colli Zugna’s best wines.

The mountain vine

Pendici del Baldo

Until the end of the 60s, the agricultural activity mainly carried out at the foot of Monte Baldo was animal breeding, while vine cultivation was marginal and mainly dedicated to red grapes for family use wines. Since then, an intense conversion activity of the agricultural production has led to the introduction of Muller Thurgau, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Nero vines. All the pureness of high-altitude wines.

The cultivation of mountain vineyards in the municipality of Brentonico and at an altitude between 350 and 750 meters, covers two sides on the slopes of Mount Baldo. The cultivated land is organized in graduated terrace steps having different sizes and typical for mountain terrain where manual work still prevails over agricultural machinery.

Research applied to the territory

Le Selezioni

The wines belonging to this range are valuable and come from the best terrain.

The organization of the vineyards and the slope of the ground together with weather conditions and characteristics of the soil are conceived to satisfy the specific needs of all types of grapes, with the aim to highlight their potential and authenticity.

They are bottles which express the completeness of every vineyard, in full respect of the potentialities of nature, while they preserve selections of valuable variety of grapes refined in barrique.

Our sparkling wines adopt the procedure of the secondary fermentation in the bottle, typical of the TrentoDoc method.

They stand out thanks to the characteristics of the climate and the special altitude of the mountain territory, which turn them into unique products. It is the altitude that shapes our sparkling wines, which stand out from all the others and represent a strong call to the identity of our people. Our land is the mountain, the slopes of Mount Baldo, while the connection to the territory enhances the mineral and floral features of our wines.

Tradition and innovation

Special wines

Special wines share the choice of methods and values coming from the past, although presented in contemporary terms.

Special wines for special occasions, suitable for consumption in a “meditative state” which respects the wines and invites to rediscover the importance of waiting: a step back in history to take two steps forward in the field of innovation.
